Hey everyone! It’s been a bit quiet on the blog lately, and with good reason. Life has taken a few unexpected turns, and honestly, it’s been a whirlwind! You might remember our epic trip to Cebu, followed by my hometown in Surigao, and then a detour to Siargao. We were busy exploring, documenting our adventures, and well, working those social media feeds all while juggling my work as digital marketing. Yeah, it’s been a bit chaotic!
Cebu and Siargao 2024
Then came May, and we jetted off to Vietnam. More reels, more posts, more juggling – you know the drill. But amidst all the chaos, something magical happened. Lindy fell head over heels for Siargao. And you know what? So did I. The “Siargao curse” is real, my friends! He decided to make the move, and without hesitation, I was all in. Not only does it make Lindy incredibly happy (and let’s be honest, that’s always a priority), but Siargao has a unique energy. Plus, being a short boat ride from my family is the cherry on top!
Vietnam 2024
So, Operation: Siargao Move began! Packing and organizing is never easy, but for me, it was next-level. I’m a labeling fanatic (clothes, kitchenware, you name it – everything gets a tag). It wasn’t until I was knee-deep in boxes, labeling every single one of my things, that it hit me: this move was different. I was packing up my entire life and leaving the city behind for a whole new adventure.
I was born and raised in the city. The idea of island living? Totally foreign to me. I mean, I don’t even know how to swim! From my small hometown to Manila, and now to this little island paradise, life has a funny way of throwing curveballs. For my friends reading this, it still feels surreal that I’ll be living on an island in just two weeks. Honestly, I can’t quite believe it myself, but deep down, I’ve always been all in for adventure – no matter where it takes me.

I’m gonna miss those late-night food deliveries, for sure. And the endless hum of city traffic will be replaced by the gentle chirping of crickets. Oh, and did I mention the online shopping situation? My friends have warned me that those trusty deliveries from Shopee and Shein don’t always make it out there. Yikes! But hey, maybe all the money I save on online shopping and takeout will be a blessing in disguise.
I guess, anywhere in the world with the love of your life is not scary even if it means it is outside of your comfort zone. This move is a leap of faith, but with Lindy by my side, and the promise of sandy beaches and endless sunsets, I’m ready to embrace the change. And you know what’s even more exciting? I finally get to have a dog again!

Stay tuned for more updates on our Siargao adventures, including life with a furry friend and my attempts to become a confident island girl. And who knows, maybe I’ll even find some online shopping hacks out there!
Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever made a big move like this. What challenges did you face? Any tips for a newbie island girl? I’d love to hear from you!
